New Designers 6th July 2016 The Business Design Centre is once again hosting its renowned New Designers event. BCU attended the event along with 13 talented students to showcase their work!	Historical Architecture "Originally the Royal Agricultural Hall the (now) Business Design Centre was opened in 1862." - Business Design Centre	Competition So many universities and colleges exhibit here that it really creates some tough competition but it also helps to show students what trends have formed across the year and how to be different to everyone else.
Stand Designs and Layouts The impact of your stand really impacts who looks at it. You want people to stop and walk onto your stand to explore the designs further, some do this with pops of colour.	Specialisms Combined Many specialisms are featured at this event and there are many unique concepts to look at.	Stand: FP59 With a diverse range of projects we established a simple stand layout and displayed the projects successfully.
Signage Simple graphics and colour ways captioned our stand so that guests clearly knew the university that the students were representing.	Business Cards This event is great for networking, our students had their contact details on hand throughout the show.	Product Design Models Products are displayed across a large table for visitors to clearly admire, with leaflets and boards for explanation.
Students Discuss Projects Beau and Charlie man the stand awaiting the industry professionals for the Private View.	Speaking to Visitors Talking someone through your design really helps them to understand your process and they could bounce off your ideas to suggest connections within industry.	Lecturer Support This event wouldn't be possible without the support and guidance of the lecturers at BCU. I'm sure the students exhibiting would join us in thanking them for the experience and the help along the way.
Presentation Boards BCU display their Product Design pieces with informative boards. Utilising Products Making a product or piece of furniture that works is a bonus because people can interact with it.
Displayed Work Some students created a selection of pieces, using a range of unique materials.	Exploring Everywhere Else It's a great idea to look around every stand at the show and to see who else you will be competing against in the design world. Not only this, but it could be a great way to find people to collaborate with or to be inspired by!	Visitors Browse the Products All sorts of people spoke to the students about their individual projects to learn more about their designs.
Group Photo Time They all seemed so proud of what they had achieved and what each other had achieved, that it was only fitting to capture some group photos!	Let The Awards Commence On New Designers' Preview Evening there are many awards dished out to selected projects across all disciplines. Congratulations to all winners!	Shirts All Round Turning into professional designers commences when the students display their work to industry specialists and they dressed to impress.
Awards Winners All assembling on the stairs as they are presented with their prizes and congratulated on their success.	Students and Lecturers Together After a busy evening at the Awards Night students and lecturers were able to celebrate with a few glasses of Absolut - a key sponsor of the event.	And the Glasses Kept Coming... As a small selection of the graduates, this group really seemed to have a strong bond and great friendships between them, another amazing aspect of university.
